Commemoration of 400 Years of African-American History
In August of 1619, the first Africans were sold into bondage in Point Comfort, Virginia. Now, in 2019, the Commemoration of 400 years of African American History is a national movement. The Willow Hill Heritage and Renaissance Center is planning activities which tell the whole story of African-American Life and Culture in Bulloch and surrounding Georgia counties - including the diaspora, slavery, emancipation, reconstruction, KKK, Jim Crow, segregation, voting rights, civil rights, and integration, up to the election of the first Black President. We ask you all to join us in telling this story through music, theater, spoken word, the arts, discussions, writings and so much more. YOU TOO HAVE A STORY TO TELL!
